is a state of the art engineering R&D and design company based in Cambridge. They design and develop their own products and systems including ARCC electric bikes. These feature a unique intelligent power function which allows the cyclist to control the bike motor, balancing it against the amount of effort they desire to put in.
THE BRIEF
ARCC Innovations required an iOS app that cyclists would use to control their electric bike via Bluetooth. Without having their own dedicated mobile development team, ARCC approached us to guide them through the project.

THE SOLUTION
With a combination of user interface design and hardware communication, the ARCC app proved a very interesting project for the Green Custard team to work on.
To fulfil its purpose, the app needed to run on a mobile device that is docked on the handlebars of an electric bike. This meant that our key challenge was to design a user interface to ensure the cyclist’s safety whilst using the app in motion. With our specialist knowledge and previous experience, the end result is simple, effective and isn’t a distraction to the cyclist.
By involving us early on in the project and sharing their exciting plans for the future, we were able to make the product as future proof as possible – adding even further value to the client.
