AWS MAP FAQ
Does your project qualify for funding? Find out below.

Is my project eligible for MAP funding support?
A wide range of projects are eligible for MAP, so it is well worth contacting us to check. MAP can be used to move anything to AWS, whether it be from another cloud provider, from on-premise, from a software application, or even from a manual process. We have seen MAP used for many different types of workload, including: deploying IoT, machine learning, smart buildings, or consolidating expensive third-party tools.
How much funding can I get through MAP?
The amount of funding depends on the level of cloud usage and the project scope. We typically see funding in the range of $40,000 to $300,000, but larger amounts are possible for significant workloads. Green Custard can help you estimate your eligibility and guide your funding application to maximise support.
What if MAP isn’t right for me?
MAP is only one of the funding options provided by AWS. Our role as a partner is to help navigate the options, so if MAP isn’t right, we can help find an option that is.
How can Green Custard help with the MAP process?
We guide you through every step, from securing funding for the initial Assess phase to delivering technical discovery, PoCs, and full-scale migrations.
Can MAP be used for Proof of Concepts (PoCs)?
Yes — AWS may fund PoCs as part of the MAP programme, particularly if they support a clear migration pathway. Furthermore, there are additional funding schemes specific to PoCs that we can help you leverage.
How long does it take to apply for MAP?
AWS aims to approve requests within 14 days.
Is my business eligible for MAP funding?
All businesses are eligible to apply. Eligibility has more to do with the nature of the project. We'll assess your readiness and work with AWS to confirm eligibility, and if MAP isn’t right, we can help find an option that is.
Other Funding Options
