THE CUSTOMER
Britvic is the largest supplier of branded still soft drinks and the number two supplier of branded carbonated soft drinks in Great Britain, and it is an industry leader in Ireland and France. The company has developed a strong portfolio of its own iconic brands, including Robinsons, Tango and J2O, whilst producing and selling a number of PepsiCo's famous soft drinks brands too.
THE BRIEF
Britvic needed a specialist team to rapidly prototype a new IoT-connected product which was to be deployed in live trials. The project involved multiple partners and had to be delivered within a challenging time frame.
THE REQUIREMENTS
- A trusted team with specialist knowledge of IoT
- AWS partner with certified cloud expertise
- Delivery of the project within a tight six week no-fail deadline
- Effective teamwork across internal specialists, Britvic employees and wider external partners
"Green Custard took a relatively ambiguous and challenging brief and quickly aligned with a set of new partners to deliver a successful pilot proposition within a very challenging timeline. The GC team demonstrated throughout strong leadership and knowledge, often going above and beyond to ensure success."
Scott MacKenzie,
Digital Innovation Lead at Britvic
THE SOLUTION
We developed the prototype within the challenging timescale using our intelligence around IoT, matched with our creativity to rapidly deliver, resulting in meeting the objective of supporting Britvic in their customer trials.
With our deep knowledge of AWS IoT services, coupled with our embedded and mobile software capabilities, the result was delivery of AWS IoT cloud infrastructure, a tablet-based user interface, and invaluable support across development being undertaken by other partners.
The data from the reporting infrastructure we developed, and the overall learning Britvic gained from the trial, is now shaping future product development which we are pleased to continue to support.
"We are very proud to have worked with a large team of partners to deliver, in a very short timescale, a complex product which lead to a successful trial with one of the world's largest organisations." - Jonathan Custance, Director at Green Custard
